On the spot: Heartfelt

Yeah, this is a pretty old album, but I decided to listen to it again, and feature my top 5 songs here.

Released last 2007, this is Kyla’s sixth album and her first album that is composed of revivals.  She released a couple of singles and made the music videos for Love Will Lead You Back, I Don’t Want You To Go, and It’s Over Now.

What I love about this album is that even if the whole album is pure revivals, it is still great.  Kyla put a lot of new flavors on the songs.  And the choices of the tracks are amazing.  It will make you reminisce, relax, go emo, and all.   And some of the songs are pretty new to me, ’twas my first time hearing these songs, so I enjoyed it a lot.

Here are my top 5 songs in this album:

1. For You

2. Home

3. I  Miss You So Much

4. One Day In Your Life

5. Brokenhearted

On The Spot: New Morning

Alpha Rev is a rock band from Texas with Casey McPherson as the front man.  They started in 2005 and released their debut album The Greatest Thing I’ve Ever Learned on March 2007.  The band gained local success, and received a couple of awards.

Feb 2009, they recorded their international debut release under Hollywood Records.  New Morning is composed of 11 tracks, and some songs were featured in different tv shows and movies.

Jolly’s Song of The Week introduced this band to me.  He featured their title track “New Morning” on his site, and from there, I decided to have a copy of their album.  It was a treat!  The album is freakin awesome… every song in the album is lovable.  You can definitely here the Coldplay vibe in their music, which is a great thing.

2. Phoenix Burn
3. White Fences
4. When Did I Wake Up
5. Face Down
6. Get Out

On the Spot: Save Me, San Francisco

Save Me, San Francisco is the 5th studio album of the band Train which was released last October 27, 2009.  The band went on a three-year hiatus after their unsuccessful fourth album, but now, they’re definitely back.  The billboard hit Hey, Soul Sister is the first single of this album, their second-career top ten hit after Drops Of Jupiter.

For me, this is a feel good album.  It’s not their typical sound, much livelier, and a very perfect album for this season.

  1. Save Me, San Francisco
  2. Hey, Soul Sister
  3. I Got You
  4. Parachute
  5. This Ain’t Goodbye
  6. If It’s Love
  7. You Already Know
  8. Words
  9. Brick By Brick
  10. Breakfast In Bed
  11. Marry Me

My Top 5:

1. Hey, Soul Sister
2. Save Me, San Francisco
3. Marry Me
4. This Aint Goodbye
5. Parachute
Hey, Soul Sister is definitely my fave track in this album.. very lively and cool song. Save Me, San Francisco is kinda like the first one, same vibe.  Marry Me and This Ain’t Goodbye are the mellow songs in this album.  And lastly, lem’me share to you my #5 song, Parachute.
Rating: 7/10
