The first few months of this year was pretty crazy. I was out of control.  I discovered a lot of things, tried a lot of things, and broke myself free.   I wasted a lot of time and money.. and love.

I discovered a new friend.  I met Jake.  On that moment when we first met, I knew that he’ll be a good friend.  He stood by me during the scariest time of my life.  And I’m happy that he was there! Despite his condition, he stayed strong for me. Such an inspiration.  And he made me proud on what he’s been doing now.  And knowing that I’m somehow one of the reasons why his life changed, I’m touched.  That’s one of the highlights of my year.

I discovered a new light in my career.   Being a part of the Android Team is such a fun part of my job.  And, this year, I think I got my mojos back.  Promotion, New office, New officemates, New projects.  It all happened this year.  Although it was not perfect at all! I think I accumulated my most number of tardiness this year! Haha! But my tardiness brought in something good at the end of this year!  Was awarded as Person Of The Year of The Filipino Time for being consistently late, and still proud of it! LOL

I discovered more rushers. This year is also one of the best! I met a LOT of new rushers this year, and they’re crazier than the former rushers I know (but of course, iba pa rin ang mga orig, those I’ve been with since 2008).  But combining them altogether is such a riot. And big thanks to Twitter for connecting me to them.  My day is not complete without them.  To all the old and new rushers, Cheers!!

I discovered a new book. Also this year was the release of Chico and Delamar’s TMR Top 10 Book.  It’s an another feat for the duo, and I am so very proud that I’m part of the book. Reading all of the entries there brought back a lot of memories.  And seriously, when people asks me to sign their book, it makes me proud of what I contributed to the show.  As I’ve said before, I never dreamt of this treatment, I still consider myself as one of the simple, regular texters/listeners.  Still, thank you guys for the love!

I discovered a new world.  Instagram.  I thought at first that it was a simple app where you will post your photos.  A virtual photo album.  I was wrong.  There I found a new community, a new group of friends, creative and wonderful people, a new family! Big thanks to all my instagram friends, esp to Igersmanila and all the 9pmhabit people.  They brought in a different fun on my life this year!

I discovered another beauty of the Philippines.  My most memorable trip this year is our Palawan Getaway with my College Friends.  It was a fun trip, and the experience will be treasured forever. I actually wanna go back there and experience it all over again!

I discovered new communities. Kik, Path, Soundcloud. I’m getting addicted to these things.

All in all, 2011 has been a great year for me. Thanks to all the people I’ve been with this year. To my family, relatives, HS friends, College friends, Officemates, Rushers, FB friends, Twitter Friends, Instagram Friends, KaPathid, LP brothers.  Thank you guys for a great year! See you all this 2012!

Hindi lang dahil sa music kaya ako nahook sa show.. Pati na rin sa makukulit na top10 nila at informative conversations nila. Then sinubukan ko ding magtext.  First time ko yun… nagbaka sakali na mababasa sa radio. That was my birthday, 200* something. And when they read my message, tumamblig ako sa tuwa. At ayun na, nagsimula na ang kaadikan. 

Hanggang sa nagcollege na ako. Sinimulan ko ng magpasa ng entries sa top10. Jhun13 pa ako nun. At pag sinuswerte, nakakapasok naman sa top10. Iba yung feeling eh. And I did the next move. Hinanap ko sila sa internet. Nakita ko ang mumunting forum ng mga rushers. Nakigulo ako at nakisaya sa kanila. Hanggang sa dumating yung time na nagkaroon na ng EB. Oct 2007. Nameet ko na sila CnD!!!! At ayun, buwan buwan na ang pasama ko sa mga Rushers.

Then came Dec 8 2008.  Sa di malamang kadahilanan, nagpalit ako ng codename. Oscar Dela Hopia. At nagsimula na ang di ko inakalang mangyayari sa buhay ko. NAAAKS!!! )

Dahil yata sa codename na to, napadalas ang pagpasok ko sa top10… at maraming naaliw sa akin. Yata. At ayun, parang instant popularity ang nangyari. Oo na, aaminin ko na sikat talaga yung codename na nagamit ko. Hindi din ako makapaniwala na ganun ang mangyayari.

Yung tipong makakatanggap ka ng DM o private message sa fb, saying “lagi kitang naririnig sa tmr”.. “nakakatuwa codename mo”.. “ikaw lagi nasa top10″.. “ang cute mo pala” (ok joke lang yan).. nakakataba ng puso!! 

Tapos ngayun, nagpublish na ng book ang TMR.. and sa gulat ko talaga, hongdomi kong entries. Nakakaoverwhelm talaga.. never ko naman inexpect na sa pagpapalit ng codename eh magiging ganito. So thankful na rin kasi dahil dito, madami akong nakilala, madami akong naging kaibigan, at madami akong naging pans! LOL (pagbigyan na, blog ko to )

Happy Anniversary Oscar Dela Hopia!!!

Sobrang lakas ng ambon… so ulan na sya.. #anudaw.. anyway.. I went to Baclaran Church to light a candle and make a wish and pray. Kahit papaano, nabawasan yung worries ko and gumaan ang loob ko that moment.

When I was about to go out of the candle area (nakalimutan ko tawag dun), a guy called me and asked if pwede daw makisukob. No choice naman ako at pinasukob ko sya sa payong kong sira-sira.. Buti na lang hindi sya katangkaran at hindi ako nahirapan maghawak ng payong.

He asked me kung saan daw ako sasakay, and I told him “pa MRT po”. And sabi nya MRT din sya sasakay… so sabay na lang daw kami.  Then nung nakapara na kami ng jeep, he sat dun sa tabi ng driver while I went inside (sa likod).  Nagulat ako when he said na sya na daw magbabayad sakin.

Natuwa ako dahil just because of that pa-sukob thing.. nakalibre pa ako ng pamasahe. Ayos si kuya.. Then when we reached the MRT Taft, I was surprised na hinintay nya akong bumaba kahit naulan pa. He then told me, “Mauna na ako ha. Salamat. God Bless, God Bless”.

It was a nice feeling. Ang sarap ng pakiramdam na nakakatulong ka sa isang tao na hindi mo naman kilala.. kahit sa simpleng paraan.

Lesson Of This Story: Magdala ng payong.

Last Nov 8-10, I attended the People Handling Skills Seminar at Oakwood Premier Joy-Nostalg Center, Ortigas.  Nung una, kinabahan ako kasi we will be in a room full of supervisors, CIOs, managers, etc… nakakapanliit lang.

But after that 3 days, sobrang nag-enjoy ako! I learned a lot of things sa seminar. Sobrang galing ng facilitator namin, and the participants are really nice.  I even gained new (fb) friends dahil sa seminar na yon hehe

But asides from the knowledge about Leadership, madami din akong quotable quotes na nakolekta sa seminar na yun. Now lemme share some of ‘em:

• We opt to let go of our dreams because real life happens.
• Our organization are not hindrances but vehicles to reach your dream.
• Appreciate who you are so you could learn to appreciate other people.
• Everything rises and falls on leadership
• A bad decision is better than no decision at all.
• You always have a choice
• Life is equal t 10% of what happens to you and 90% of  how you react to it
• Feedback is neither positive nor negative. It depends on how we see it.
• I’d rather hear a “no” than a “maybe” that never comes true.

Nice di ba? And isa pang nainspire ako na gawin because of this seminar is yung paggawa ng Life’s To Do List.. hmmm gusto kong itry kayo baka mablanko ako.. at mafrustrate sa dami hehe.. anyway, pag sinipag.

I never imagined na maeexperience ko ang birthday salubong… sa office! while working!

May sudden request yung client namin that day (Oct 12) so I have no choice but to stay.. and when the clock hit 12 midnight, my team mates sang a Happy Birthday song to me. Natuwa naman ako. And the greetings from text messages and twitter started coming in. Nawala focus ko bigla. hehe. I went home 1am .

I woke up a lil late, but just in time to tune in to The Morning Rush. Kahit wala si delle, ok lang.. Chichi and Gigi greeted me naman, along with the rest of the rushers.  Unfortunately, I have to go to work that day (coz I’m saving my VL for the long weekend).  And when I got to the office …

Inabangan ko talaga yan hahaha! I even received a surprise cake from my boss! So sweet!!!

And my phone continuously received the greetings from friends and strangers. I thought that it was ok sana if I was on leave, so that I could answer all the greetings. But I really can’t.  So ayun, continue working and ended my day normally.. kahit daming pangungulit ng mga officemates for treat. deadma lang LOL.

When I got home.. walang handa. As usual. So I went directly in front of my PC to check my online greets.. and there were a LOT!!! It was overwhelming! More than 430 greets from facebook, twitter, instagram, and text messages (oo, binilang ko po sya LOL)… and a day was not enough for me to thank all the people who bothered typing the words “happy birthday”.

And with that, I thought of picking the Top 10 20 Birthday Greetings for me.  Gusto ko lang.. bakit ba! Let’s do this:

4. Beatrix Arazas: “happy bday to the most wholesome outside but pervert on the inside :p” (she knows me too well thanks badette)

5. Alhmar Acer Cervantes: “it’s the Big-O (as in occasion) for the perverted O (as in one) hehe… happy birthday jhun13!” (daming O!)

6. Raffy Barreiro: “Happy birthday, Delaho!!!” (shocked when I saw this on my timeline! The Boss of RX is greeting me!!! #AkoNa)

7. Edzcel Balicusto: idol!!!!!!!!!!!! happy birthday! *samba* (nakakastarstruck!!!)

9. Remar Garcia: belated merry bday,,,hehe (sa kanya naman, merry!)

11. Tin Murillo: hey! wala lang.. belated happy bday. hindi mo ako kilala for sure… just wanted to greet you (awww.. nice di ba, even if di nila ako kilala personally, binabati pa rin nila ako ^_^)

So excited to share this timeline to everyone… I love my new facebook!

Since monday, I’ve been leaving work at 12 midnight.. and reach home at around 1am. Sobrang toxic. Release week na kasi.. and ang dami pa naming finifix.

And friday finally came.  Nakapagrelease na kami… BUT, there were still pending items na kelangan tapusin.

Kaya ayun, I went to work this saturday.. up until 7pm.

I hope everything’s ok now. Looking forward for a petiks month next month!
